Where to ride in N.FL, GA, or AL?
« on: June 27, 2007, 05:55:12 PM »
I have all 4th of July week off and wanted to know where I could go for a good ride.  I ride Santos often as is so that's out.  I would prefer riding somewhere with the difficulty of Alafia or the Abyss.

Any suggestions would be most appriciated.

Razorback in Reddick, FL..  or something in Georgia..

Macon has good trails, Atlanta has good trails, Ellijay has good trails. From what I've heard there are some good trails up in the Panhandle of Florida too..

the world should ride a rigid singlespeed!

Went to law school at Cumberland in B'ham and practically lived at Oak Mountain State Park.  For a great time, you can rent a cabin in the park and have an extended stay.  There's great hiking, fishing, golf, etc. all within the park.   Wasn't a rider then but I know of the trails and they seemed just about perfect, except for that having to go uphill part!  Probably taking the family there in the fall.

If I had all week I'd be heading to the mountains. Ellijay is closest and has TONS of riding. If you want something different in Florida, though, I'd suggest San Felasco in Alachua and Tom Brown Park in Tallahassee. There's also a trail called Red Bug in Tallahassee that's short but fun.

I have been going to Ellijay a few times per year and one year once or twice a month since 98 and still have not seen all of the trails the area has to offer! It is that good. :)  chiselchest and Harvey say Ellijay so that is where you are going Biaatch!!! ;D ;D ;D
