Maiden Voyage
« on: June 28, 2007, 09:50:16 PM »
well i took the orbea out for a ride today... all i can say is wow.. that bike is like a rocket.  i rode somewhere around 55 miles and it felt great.

the bike was stiff and sprinted very nicely... a bit different from the compliance of the titanium Litespeed...

but the bike was also compliant when it needed to be.. when your in the saddle the bike seems to dampen the road and vibration more so than i expected for such a stiff sprinter... this is even with aluminum bars on the bike.. so you'll get a little vibration there... but really not much..

anyways i am very happy with the bike.. very happy to be working again.. and happy to be able to spend money again soon LOL..  like that ever stopped me!! hahaha..

the world should ride a rigid singlespeed!

Sounds fun, I've never been much of one for road bikes. They are about as comfortable as a unicycle on the nether regions for me. The few times I have ridden on it is fun to go fast.

I know the feeling, my undercarraige felt like it had been kicked by an angry female after my ride.  It's probably the seat in this case.  So I got a Forte Pro SLX.  The Stock seat, Fi'zik Alliant?? seems to have no give and no cut out.  Anyway, I'm glad to like the bike!  I looked at them (Orbea) but could convince my wife to let me spend that much on a road bike.

i drooled on an ORCA but then saw the price tag and threw up in my mouth a little bit

i love the lines of the Orbeas - those Spaniards know how to make a bike look like art.
