Bicycle Stereo system!
« on: July 15, 2007, 10:32:34 PM »
ok I know many of you weight weenies out there will not like this but I found these Bicycles mounted stereo speakers and wanted an opinion.  I would modify the mounting bracket so that it fits on the stem of the bike.  Tell me what you think.

I just figured it would be a way to break the monotany.  Don't get me wrong I love riding, but music just seems to make it a bit less like exercise and more fun.  Besides, I can listen/learn that baby seals cadence I have been meaning to pick up.

I don't think I want to have music going while I'm in the wood with a bunch a wildlife knowing I'm coming near by. That will only prone for an attack!! :D

The sell spinners for your rims too.  Seriously, they do.  Check out the huffy section at walt-mart.  I saw them yesterday.  I kid you not.  LOL...   ;D ;D ;D ;D

Sorry, I am with Bob on this one.  But I do take my mp3 player in long lonely rides.  Don't think I want to fit my rig with a sound system.  Next the spinners, then eventually will start to see hydroulics like some motocyles have already.   Finally the bicycle mounted TV will come along......

Just me, my bike, woods, and the ocasional bird singing will do for now.... Enjoy nature as is...

Music in the woods is a quiet smooth running bicycle.  The barely discernible click of shifting gears.  The soft pop sound of a pinecone being flicked off the trail.  The song of a woodpecker in the distance, the squeal of a startled pig on the trail.  Ahhh, all music not usually found on an MP3 or bike mounted stereo.

Or the tune rushing through my head as I try to gain speed on a trail I know like the back of my hand.  My minds stereo plays Aerosmith, Pat Benatar, Led Zepplin, Foghat - just to name a few.
Crash on.

Every good rider needs their own theme music.

Like I said this will go on my road bike.  On the trails the hum of my tires, and the next drop is enough for me to stay motivated.  On the road I love hearing the almost hollow sound of my bike on smooth pavement.  But  I don't want to wear earphones on my road bike because of the potential safety hazard.  So it is either this or sound dots (mini speakers you can mount in your helmet).  I am still debating, too many choices!

I just hang one ear bud out of my ear and it works really well for me. I can still have a conversation with it in. 8)

Get the headphones that curl around your ears and you can clip them to your helmet and pump your tunes without pissing everyone off that doesn't like the Aba.
