Time Trials
« on: July 21, 2007, 04:43:44 PM »
I'm bored. There's nothing happening  with the off road MTB scene. Anybody interested in putting together  a  time trial day out at Boyette? Stagger the riders every 3 minutes or so, riders must yield immediately to a passing rider, map out maybe a 12 -15 mile course. Every  3 minutes   we can get 20 riders per hour and can likely do this thing  and be done by 11.00 am.  What does you foos think?  Can an un-official fun event like this happen?   8)

This sounds cool. It would be fun to do it at North Creek also.

I think a shorter loop would be more exciting and get more involvement. Let us know what you come up with.

We could Tour De France it and have stages and have a cummulative scoring finish. Think North Creek, Bridges and Roller Coaster, then jump over to the Abyss for a final score.

(ok, maybe even MoonScape for you more veteran riders.)

North Creek doesn't have any real serious climbs.

I like Boyette. Start on the two track road between the East and West Quadrants. Start at  Northeast, ride to the red shirt , then hit the fields, maybe do  the Abyss, then Golfcart, back over to Spider Berm, then ride across the  top of the fields back to the two track road between the Quadrants for the finish. a little bit of everything. And its out of the way, no 2 miles in and out, hills, technical, open road, single track and  an open road finish for easy scoring and time monitoring. If thats too long, sections can be easily eliminated.
