With the heat there it is a good idea to roll out by sunrise! Nice and cool!

I was tempted, but a little too late of a start for me too.  I'll probably do the regular Gaither ride.

We had planned a trip to San Tony this Saturday already.  We are rolling out by 7am from the usual spot by the Park on Curley Rd.  We'll be doing 40-60 miles of the Hilly Hundred course which we are signed up for later in October. See you there or see you at the top of Ice Cream Hill!!!

Way to go guys for doing that trail work. Those trails will need some attention with all this rain we are getting. Looks like I will be working this Saturday again otherwise I would be there with you Crazy and Chisel.

Here is the route map.  We are only doing 40 or so miles.  Yellow then Red.

http://www.5skaggs.com/images/SAN-ANTONIO-BIKEROUTE.jpg

We'll be riding out at 7:30am from 12750 Oak Street,  San Antonio, FL 33576.  Here are directions from Brandon:
http://maps.yahoo.com/#gid2=14445170&q2=12750%20Oak%20Street%20San%20Antonio,%20FL%2033576%20&q1=brandon,%20fl&trf=0&mvt=m&lon=-82.276654&lat=28.336455&mag=4

BTW, notice that the blue road (Trilby Rd) goes up to the Withlachoochee trail.  Later this Fall, I would like to add that to do a century out there.

How was the hills ride, guys?  We had a BIG group on the Gaither ride.  Kind of a crazy ride...a couple of flats and quite a few incidents with idiot drivers, but overall it was a good ride!

The San Antonio ride for us was great!  I showed up a bit earlier for extra miles. When i got to parking lot, there was a caravan of riders from AJ's.  Names I recognized were Kevan, and Marshall.  There were at least five other guys who normally ride the Thursday AJ's ride.  Some are training for the 6 Gaps ride in NC.  Marshal is also training for the "Hotter Then Hell" ride.  Which is the one of the biggest century rides in the US.  It is held in northen TX later in this month with a about 110-120 heat.  That's why the name... Just mentioning since I plan on doing this ride next year hopefully...

Anyways, we only managed to do the 40 mile "yellow" loop.  Over 2,200 ft elavantion gain.  Somewhat slow 16.5 mph average pace.  I did manage to get up to 38.8 mph on a couple of downhills.  However, "Ice Cream" hill kicked my butt.  I made it the top but I maxed out my hart rate.  We plan on doing this ride at one or two times a month now on Saturday mornings.
