What's Everyone's Ride Plans For The Weekend?
« on: August 24, 2007, 12:28:56 PM »
Tomorrow, I'll ride road...more than likely the Gaither ride.  For Sunday, I'm thinking of joining the club ride at Croom.  I haven't ridden there in years, so it might be nice to get out there again.  I think I've ridden the mtb more times in the past few weeks than I have in the past 4 years?!  ;D  I forgot how much fun the dirt is! 8)

Hitting Santos both Saturday and Sunday to do some pre-riding.
It's not just fun, it's an addiction!

2 quick laps in the morning at LHP, then SS at Alafia on Sunday.

Hopefully, sometime soon I can get up to Santos.  That used to be my favorite place to ride, but I haven't been up there in years...I see it's GROWN quite a bit!

Factore...hey if you're close to the ride... come out  and ride with us.  It's a good group, same loop of about 42 miles...some will go longer.  I'm a member of Suncoast too, but don't ride with them often...it's a little bit of a trek for me...Gaither is close enough that I can ride from the house too.

I will be riding croom like I do everyday!  We got some rain today so the trails should be good for the weekend.
I mostly ride the pits area on north blue, the other areas are kinda boring.

FACTORe

The ride starts at 7:30am, behind the Lifestyle Fitness Center at the corner of Mapledale & Dale Mabry(Northdale Shopping Center). The ride is mostly on back roads for 42 miles...there are shorter or longer options. Group starts out as one, but typically breaks up into two main groups.  Tomorrow, I'm going to drive to the start versus riding from home, so I'll keep my eyes open for ya. I think I'll recognize you?! ;D  I drive a white Yukon and I ride a Colnago.  Hope to see ya! 8)

Croom is a workday to trim back the trails today.

Trailhead #1 at 9:00 with lunch about 12:00ish for those who RSVP.  Ride a little, trim a little.  Also one can ride after the workday.  It keeps the trails open for all of us to ride.

If each trail system had 30 to 40 volunteers, (depending on the work that needs to be done),  one Saturday a month the trails would be in awesome shape.  Old trails trimmed; bad trails fixed; new trails made make for some great riding.

One Saturday a month - pick yours:
1st Saturday Alafia
2nd Saturday Boyette
3rd Saturday Morris Bridge
4th Saturday Croom.

FACTORe...glad you came out to the ride this morning! Sounds like we'll be seeing more of ya on Saturday.  Have a good ride in Santos tomorrow.   Did ya get all your house chores done? :) ;D

So, what time are you guys planning to be at Santos? I hadn't been there in a while so I figured I'd head over.

I'll just make sure to wave like and idiot at anyone with a Blur LT that has a swamp jersey. ;)
