new road bike
« on: September 11, 2007, 11:42:33 PM »
You guys are gonna laugh but...I got a road bike..........from Wal-Mart.  I had been looking at them at a bike shop for a while. Well today we were shopping at Wally World and I looked at the bikes there. I had seen this Schwinn there before that looked pretty good. Really light all alloy--nice components.  Well, they only had 2 left and they marked them down to $154.  Heck, I snapped it up. I swear that baby is every bit as good as the ones I saw at the bike shop for 4 times as much. I could be wrong but for $154 I was willing to risk it.

I rode it earlier at it was pretty sweet. Yep, I am a cheapo.

A bike is a bike. Enjoy it and take satisfaction in smoking other riders in more expensive set-ups. You just might get the bike bug and want to upgrade.

How light is super light? I saw some Wal-Mart road bikes but they were heavy pigs. They weren't Schwinn though- something else. I've been debating getting a road bike... but I think I would have to sell the HT to get one and that leaves me without a backup/loaner MTB  :(
