Pick a Century, any Century
« on: October 03, 2007, 07:12:05 PM »
The weekend of November 17 -18 there are 3 local century rides  in the Central Florida area. For all you cross training mountain bikers that may dabble with a little  road riding here  and there, here are the choices:

Tampa has the inaugural Ride Without Limits, a Cerebral Palsy handicap awareness benefit ride
(http://www.ridewithoutlimits.org/.  This is a fundraiser benefit  ride that looks like goes on over the
                                                                    two day weekend.

Dunedin has the 11'th annual Diabetes Challenge. http://www.diabeteschallenge.com/

Clermont has the Horrible 100. http://www.horrible-hundred.com/  This one has all the big climbs in the Clermont area
                                                                               as part of the route.

Thanks Ells...
The Clermont is the cheapest and probably most challenging on of your list.   I have had these Centuries on my 2007 Schedule for a while now:

10/7 - Rails to trails
10/21 - Hilly Hundred
10/28 - Waterway Century
11/4 - Gulf Coast Cycle Fest/feast

I can't make these:
- Oct - Mount Dora Fest
- 10/20 - Gainsville 100
- 10/21 - San Felasco100

If I had a road bike, I would be doing the Horrible Hundred.  Looks like lots of fun!!

I think I'm doing the Horiible Hundred. D at AJ's is planning on doing  it.  I think we can get a good sized group together for this one. November weather is enticing enough!

I've always enjoyed the Hilly Hundred and the Horrible Hundred...they're both fun rides!  I'll be riding both of them.
