Howdy!

Nancy and I will be heading up to Raleigh / Chapel Hill area of NC next week to visit family. We will also be taking a "side trip" up to Richmond and Mt. Vernon Virginia for a couple days as well. Are there any beginner - intermediate trails that anyone might recommend? My sister has expressed a little interest in riding, and I'd love to find a cool trail near her to check out.

Thanks!

try checking out MTBR.com.  They have a pretty extensive listing of trails.

I found quite a few trails on MTBR - thanks benjibbad... Now I have to make some decisions!

Monkeyboy, One of the links on MTBR reference TriangleMTB, and I was lucky enough to find a bike shop in the area that rents bikes (for one of my family members who wants to try to mix it up a bit)

We are leaving on Saturday, and I hear that the trees are still showing off their fall colors... being a Florida native, I haven't gotten to see too much of that...

That'll be beautiful to see. I always liked seeing the leaves change when I was at FSU. It wasn't as much as further north but it was quite abit different from here.
If you don't crash occassionaly, you're not riding hard enough!!
