what does it mean?

specs on a trek - can't figure the bike size

Head Tube is 23inches

Top Tube is 18inches

Wheel Base 43inches

I think you may have some of the measurements confused. The 18" you specified as the top tube would make this a childs bike, on the other hand 18" from the center of your bootom bracket to the top of the seat tube would make this an 18" frame and most likely a medium. The head tube is where your fork steerer tube attaches to your bike and is typically around 5" tall,so I am guessing the 23" measurement you mentioned is more likely your top tube measurement which would be a typical length on an 18" frame. Hope this helps.

Ditto what Scooter said...the only measurement that looks right is the wheelbase.

Yeah i was guessing medium from the moment i started talking to this guy. Its a full suspension trek vrx 2000. check it out here...

Nice bike for it's day.  But technology has changed quite a bit.  The "Y" frame bikes had a lot of pedal bobbing effect to them, especially noticeable in a heavier rider like a clydes.
