« on: December 13, 2007, 09:53:05 PM »
Hey ya'll, a small group is planning to ride Monday at 9 A.M. leaving Trout creek park at 9 A.M. So if you would care to join us come on out. The forecast calls for sun and natures A/C with temps around 50, time to break out the tights ;D

Nancy and I rode Tuesday, and the Trout Creek fence was locked at the dam. We "created" a trail up to the Interstate to hook back to hole-in-the-fence (where we parked). The sign said that the work should be finished by Friday.

Either way, I'm in at 9 am.

Back in the day before the dam was open for bike travel we had a trail that took us to 75 over the river and back to the levee ;D Those were the days :) Work is supposed to be completed at Trout creek today.

I think we found that trail! It is still in use, although it looks like some rocks were placed down by the river to discourage people from riding through there. It was pretty fun riding down the levee hill... and there was a sweet little winding climb over a little hill heading to the interstate.

It has been many years but from what I remember it was a short but sweet trail :)

It started out with everyone whining about the cold :'( but 15 minutes and a trail named Panther later, everyone seemed to be warming up and even had smiles on our faces :) The Pace was VERY FAST, we took turns being the rabbit at the front of the pack on alternating trails and really drove each other. We hit all the goodies including Gator bait, Indian, Heartbreak and the afore mentioned Panther for a total of just over 19 miles. Needless to say going out on the tandem later that night I did'nt have much left in the tank ;D Good ride Jason and Mike, that is the kind of ride that will either make you stronger or send you looking for different riding mates :D

I like how you decided to omit any mention of your Flash Gordon cycling pants! By the way - they did make you * look fat - I just didn't want to say anything!  ;D ;D ;D

It was a pretty good clip - I appreciate the motivation... I must increase my fitness level AND leg strength to keep that kind of riding up. Great stuff!!!
