WT50, Saturday, Jan. 12th.
« on: December 21, 2007, 05:01:34 PM »
For those who missed the super fast cutoff for San Felasco - 11 of us are planning to do a Wilderness Trails 50 on that day. Dubbed the WT50.

We will all meet in the Trout Creek parking lot for the start.
It will be two laps of 25 miles each through the three parks.  Lap #1 will be out the levy over the river through Trout Creek and Flatwoods, then finish up with all of Morris Bridge back to parking for a self SAG stop.  (I will have route maps).

Bring your lunch and beverage - kept in your vehicle while we ride.  Buddy up with your friends after lap #1 for a brief lunch stop, then back on the trails.

It will be the reverse direction for lap #2 through Morris Bridge, Flatwoods and finish with Trout Creek to parking.

For those who made the registration for Ididaride and Croom this gives you the opportunity to ride "Three Fifties" for the triple crown, even if one of them is an alternative ride.

Saturday, January 12, 2008.
9:00 a.m. start

1) Garry Rosseter
2) Christine Tabor
3) Sean Humphries
4) Bobby Leclair
5) Rick Thompson
6) Ron Zajac
7) Ted Lee
8) Johnathan Stewart
9) Bob Briskie
10) Rick Knight
11) Kevan Sheridan

More are welcome.

Merry Christmas to all!!

This is for those who missed the cutoff for the San Felasco and still want to ride the “Tre Fitty” endurance rides and are registered in Ididaride and Croom 50.

Also, it is open to whoever wants to ride a local 50 miler, but it must be a finish to those who want bragging rights for the alternative “Triple Crown”.

8:45 a.m.
Map handout - no shortcutting of trails; must do 50 miles on the bike computer to be listed as a “Finished”, otherwise listed as a D/F.

There will be a sign in/out sheet so no one is left on the trail injured or something more serious.

First 25 mile loop - Sign out to start, and then in for the self SAG lunch at the START/FINISH.

Sign out for the second 25 mile lap after self SAG lunch, then back in on return.

No money involved, unless everyone wants a T-shirt.  I could submit a simple design and order shirts from a local printer if they can have them finished in time.

Otherwise it’s just the satisfaction of finishing a 50 miler to replace the San Felasco.

If I can get my wife to take off that day, I'm in! I like the idea of the, "Been there, Done that, Got the t-shirt" thing.
If you don't crash occassionaly, you're not riding hard enough!!

Since I am doing San Felasco, anyone interested on doing this earlier?  I might go for it this weekend or early next week.  Drop a post here if you are intested.

Are we doing this as a group or on our own? My two oldst kids expressed some interest in possibly doing the ride also. Didn't know if that was okay.

This is a semi organized ride that Garry came up with in light of several people who wanted to ride the San Felasco ride not being able to get in.

We are all doing it together on the same day to help with the motivation and for some fun. 50 miles at WTA will be bumpy!

Obviously you can ride this on any day, but this is really a chance to accomplish it with some friends.

Thanks to Garry for coming up with this!

It's just like all of the other endurance rides - ride it at your own pace.  There are no SAG stops to check into, just the start and finish and checking of the computer to show a 50 mile ride if you want bragging rights of finishing three fifty mile events.  San Felasco filled up in 6 days.  WT50 takes it's place for folks who want to have three fifties under their belt.  Some folks were asking about making it a fourth fifty.  Who knows, we'll see what next year ('09) brings.
