Dog

We had what seemed like a stray dog follow us today at Boyette. Although he seemed to be in great shape (no ticks, healthy coat and not too thin), he lacked tags. The Land Managers did not know who he belonged to. He was a male-possibly Lab. Yellow in color. Very friendly. If any one on this board knows his masters I'm sure a lost dog post would have been made already. But I hope everyone keeps an eye and ear out for the owners.

He was a great looking dog too, very good natured and he handled Pandimonium with absolutely no trouble. I really hope that he was just a local person's dog out for a run.

Yeah, he was a champ out on the trails, always left plenty of room for us while riding.

We all tried at least three times, almost got it. The dog wimped out on that one though.

Nancy and I left the park around 5 pm, and he was still there. I thought that he might've been with his owner and got separated. He definitely seemed to be a rider's dog...

A couple of us were the first on the trail at Boyette last Sunday (Jan. 6th) around 7:15am and he (yellow male lab) was already in the parking lot, very friendly dog. I have no idea who's dog he belongs to (was probably dumped there since this is a favorite spot for that kind of thing. Anyway we rode for about 3 hours and that dog did every trail with us including Big Drop! He finally ditched us at the start of Spur when some joggers came by. I was wondering what had happened to him. Hopefully someone took him home because I would hate to see him get hit out on Balm Boyette.

Hello SWAMP, I have this little dog at home :). I was running a twelve mile loop with two friends on Sunday at 8:00am and he followed us back from Spider Berm to the Parking lot. I told my friends that if he followed us and he didn't belong to anyone I would take him home. He had no collar and probably dropped off. Yes I am a dog lover and couldn't resist. I lost my lab last year after 12 years and 5 months so he found a spot in my heart, he is now playing or annoying my other older GS 12 and 6 months:). I went throught all the channels, called the spca and humane society, of course the first place was this site. I went back to Balm Boyette on Tuesday and posted a found dog paper. I spoke to the Land Manager's kids they said that they didn't know the dog and that dogs get dropped off all the time, "sad". He really is a spark Plug I took him for a 5 mile run on Wednesday and he looked at me like what's next. He needs lots of excercise / training and he found the right family, he'll get plenty of excercise and love. At any rate he's been bathed, feed, watered, played with, walked, $247.00 later, de-wormed, de-fleaed, de-ticked, heart guarded and shots. If the owner comes forth that's what he'll own me, if not, I'll have him neutered in a month. Pedal on!

That's good to hear. I was worried about him so I'm glad he found a home. I'll sleep better now. :)

Way to go, Stevie. Both of my dogs came to me in a similar fashion.

Did you have him scanned for a microchip? Although you might not want to know. It sounds like he's definitely in a better place than he was before.
