GARY FISHER JOSHUA
« on: January 23, 2008, 10:36:41 AM »
Can anyone give me some info on these bikes... I might have a chance to get one but i want some tried and true swampers opinion on this bike. It is full suspension which is what I am looking for. Gary fisher is a plus and the price I can't beat with a hockey stick.

Thanks for being a great group.

Hi Jay,
The Joshua was a good late 90's suspension bike.  Compared to what is available today the technology has changed ten fold.  The Y frame design was prone to the BOB affect when riding, (bouncy ride), but good for it's time.  Also the Indy shock uses elastomers for suspension and are near impossible to find.  For a few hundred dollars more you can get a new entry level mountain bike with new parts and warranty.  With that said I have a large 2005 GT i-Drive 1.0 in like new condition with about 1300 miles on it.  Everything is in new condition and I could let it go for $800 if interested.

This would be a basic starter bike since technology has left the designs from the '90's in the dust. Would you buy an outdated 1998 computer?? NO! Then don't buy an out dated bike. You can buy a good full sus bike at any local bike shop for a fair price. Jamis has several full sus bikes at budget prices. My .02 worth. Ride on. Dave
