Heres my baby. I'm probably the last fool still riding one of these. I like my Vintage thank you very much Cheesy
it's a 98' LTS 3000, with a rear triangle from a LTS 1000...I will eventually get something newer, but this thing rides so sweet, I'm not in any rush...Psylo XC front, and a Resse racing rear shock..Mavic Cross land wheels..XT gear..slightly heavy at 29.5 lbs..but I'm a big guy with tree trunks for legs so I can push it.   Grin

I think it was about $30 from AJ's minus 10% for SWAMP.  Thanks for the compliments.  It has turned into something of an obsession.  Now lets see......kids college fund.......new Hope Pro2s with Stan's Arch rims.....hmmmm........ah the kids will get scholarships......I hope! Grin

no coaster brakes on a fixie!
purists use leg power to skid/stop 'em.
"weenies" have front & rear brakes.
front-brakes only is a "messenger"-style setup.

Yeah, its totally fixed.  I rode without brakes for 2 weeks and it was a bit hard on the knees and got tired of cars pulling out in front of me at the last minute, so I added a great little front brake.  Small finger lever on the right connected to an ultegra front caliper.

Yesterday, I rode from south tampa to downtown st. pete and I was very glad that I had a brake.  My buddy, who is totally new to fixed gears, didn't have a brake and was totally stressed in some sections.

yeah.."no brakes" dont work for me. I've almost been killed a couple of times, already, once was my fault, and once was the drivers fault,,I survived both, I'm not gonna push my luck beyond that. thank you very much.

Nice brake Cheesy

So my wife asks me, "What do you want for your birthday?".  I tell her how about a few bike tools and a bike stand so I can more easily work on my bikes.  She says how about a Redline Monocog 29er.  My jaw drops, I argue with her about how I don't want her spending money on me......I lost the argument.  She thought I need to have a more fun bike that I can just beat the crap out of and not have to worry about too many expensive/moving/breakable parts like the Anthem.

Just picked her up today from AJ's.  21" frame.  Stock for now.  Even though this was a "cheap" bike, they still gave me their level 1 fitting.  Thought that was pretty cool and makes me wish I would have purchased my Anthem from them.

Anywho, here she is.  Also pictured is my wife's Fezzari hardtail complete with pink Oury grips and an annoying purple cow bell/squeaker thing.  Hanging on the wall is the Anthem 2.  Better pics of the Monocog will be taken this weekend.

Let me get this straight.  You said "I just want some tools"....and she said "How about a bike?" ... and you said "NO", "Don't spend your money on me"  are you kidding me?  You got the bike anyway.  Where do I get one of those?  Holy crap!  If my wife knew what ANY of my stuff cost, I would be single again!  Let alone have her offer to buy me ANY bike.  Don't let her out of your sight!  Congrats, I just sent my neighbor in there for the same bike.  Great ride.  Be careful, they are addictive.  It will put a curse on you like my Voodoo! (pun intended)
