The Boyette Gallery on this photo site has several fine examples of the terrain we will develop for our final trail addition in Boyette. The map is an approximate route that will be fine tuned as we begin clearing trail.

Our plan is for this to be an intermediate level ride, with more difficult loops branching off the main route. The entire route will be shaded, with great vistas.

This trail will be unlike any other in our system. We hope to put as much trail as possible on top of the ridges. All climbs will be gradual, and we will utilize switchbacks to get up steeper ridges. Drops will be long and gentle without the big G-outs found on some of our other trails (Abyss).

It is our hope to be able to use mini-excavators to speed up construction. But before we can bring in the equipment, we have a lot of prep work. This will include a final marking of the trail, plus the initial clearing away of the fern. Low limbs and perhaps a small tree or two will need to be removed. In flat sections, the small branches and vines that litter the trail will need to be cleared.

We definitely want this completed before warm weather hits. To realize this goal, we have scheduled an entire weekend for prep work. We have several trail bosses so we can break volunteers into teams.

Ken's Grill will be cranking out hot lunches on Saturday and Sunday for you volunteers. Drinks and snacks will also be provided.

We really need your help on this, so volunteer as much time as you can.

Saturday, March 1st- 9am-1pm, 1pm-5pm, or hopefully, 9-5.
Sunday will be the same shifts. Lunch will be after, or before your shift.

By this Wednesday - PLEASE let me know when you can help so we can order food, collect tools, and arrange transportation to the work site.

Reply to wes@SWAMPclub.orgl with date and time.

We would love to have this phase completed in one weekend.
