Where did you see this advertisiment? There is an online bike shop called Bikeworld.com, but a quick look shows that this is not the same people.

The fact that they feel the need to point out that they are legit would make me question, and those prices are a little low for a retailer. I tried to google that name, but to no avail.

Also,  One of the bikes they are listing is a "NEW 2007" Gary Fisher Cake 1 DLX. The last year they made that bike was in 06'.

One thing I've learned with dealing with online retailers for high-end photography equipment is that if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is... I've a feeling this is a similar case. My guess is that if you place an order with them for a bike, they'll call you to confirm the order and say "the price is $xx for your bike".  However, they'll probably try to sell you more stuff (i.e. components)  If you would like to add brakes it will be an extra $500.  If you would like to add wheels and tires it will be another $500, etc etc etc.  If you say you don't need any of the stuff they try to sell you, then all of a sudden the item will be on backorder.  Maybe I'm wrong, but I'd be very cautious before you give them any credit card info.

I wonder if these guys are off-shore, like that other company that has super low prices. I'd rather spend a little more and have the security of dealing with someone stateside, plus it keeps our money here where it belongs.

Run the other way.  No respectable company uses a free email system (hotmail or gmail).  SPECIALLY not a free web hosting site like ITGO.com.

The guy is a shady character.  Both Specialized and Gary Fisher do not allow their bikes to be sold through the internet.  He is in a little hot water I understand because of this.  I would steer clear of "too good to be true."

they give an address, (750 SOUTH NORTH LAKE BLVD, ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, FLORIDA 32701), which is just off 436 near orlando.  their website is terrible, filled with misspellings, poor grammar, bad HTML coding and pervasive vagueness.  i would refuse to deal with them based solely on those factors.  also, they're probably scammers.

Those prices seem awfully low...

There was a guy on Ebay a few weeks ago with a new 07 Epic S-Works (stock photo).  His bike wasn't even listed with the bike auctions, it was hidden in 'Accessories' or something weird.  He wanted any potential bidders to contact him before bidding on his 'no reserve auction'.  Starting price was something stupid like $1.00.  The deal was that if you won you had to pay by Western Union...LOL.   Uh, no thanks!

It is a total scam that comes up every month or so.  ANY shop that advertises buying Giant, Specialized, or Cannondale over the web is a scam as those companies do not allow for on-line sales.  Take a look at the Giant frames they are offering at www.wheelworld.com - they are a legit dealer and say that you have to come in the store or have someone pick it up for you as they can't ship it.

To further prove it is a scam, e-mail the shop and tell them you are in the area and would like to come by and pick the bike up.  Also try Google-ing the address.  EDIT - I just looked up the address and it doesn't exist, but the the closest address (750 Northlake Blvd) does and it is an apartment complex somewhat near where I live - it is definitely not a bike shop.

You can always have fun with them by sending e-mails, offering to pick it up in person, etc...just to see all the crazy responses.  Set up a hotmail account and have fun.

I can just imagine their response....'Dear sir, thanks for your interest in our bikes.  Unfortunately, due to the overwhelming response we have sold all of the advertised bikes.  We do however, have an abundant stock of the 2007 Huffy Supreme Taco, a high-end and durable bike available for only $300....
