I spoke to Mike at Cartacay Bike Shop yesterday, he is trying to get Ellijay designated as the mtb capital of Georgia. If that happens and it looks like it will, we will have access to a lot more land for trails, plus we won't lose some trail they have been talking about taking for some time now. So what we need is for the people who ride there to write a letter saying why they go to Ellijay, what trails they ride(Carters Lake,Pinhoti,River Loop,Red & White Loop,Bear Creek, Mountain Town,Windy Gap, Rich Mountain, Owl Town And Stanley Gap) how often you go. It only needs to be about a paragraph long. Address it to Board of the County Commissioners and send it to
Cartacay Bike Shop
131 N. Main St
Ellijay Ga. 30540
One last thing, they need it before Feb 2oth
For those of you who haven't been there yet it is an AWESOME PLACE to ride and it's less than 8hrs from Tampa. Get up there and ride, you will love it.
Thanks Art

It's also the best place to launch an Appalachian Trail hike.
