I was thinking the EXACT same thing this morning while browsing some other threads on here...it would be nice if we could get a sticky thread with commonly used terms/acronyms and definitions for all of us noobs out here!

For example, I was reading some posts and came across the term  'g-out'  I know what a g-string is, but a g-out?   ??? ;D

A g-out is a big dip followed immediately by a steep incline - think of the letter 'U'.  They call it a g-out (g = gravity) because of the forces you feel from the rapid change of movement - down then up- you get when riding one.

I'd say the most famous g-out in Florida was the old Big Gulp at Razorback.  It was a steep downhill followed quickly by not quite so steep uphill.  Once I was out there on my big bike, got really *y about a 1/3rd of the way down ('this is so smooth') that I let off the brakes.  When I hit the transition at the bottom, both my front fork and rear suspension bottomed out and the rebound shot me off the bike, part way up the uphill and right into a tree.  Here's a pic of Big Gulp (RIP) taken from the uphill portion:

Oh no!!!!  Don't ask him for it cuz he will post hist own FGIS picture while at Dauset again.  He even flashed us a 2nd time with another pic at Alafia.  Not a 3rd one pic.  I already look at a FGIS every time I put on my own bib.  So that would be FGIBS - Fat Guy In Bib Spandex. ;D ;D
