Get a FOX. THEY ARE THE BEST.
I Love to Stirrrrr Stuffff UPPPPP
Fox are like Starbucks, yes they are good but with an arm and leg price tag?

You can almost build a pretty good starter hardtail with that money.

having used forks from manitou, marzocchi, rock shox, and fox over the years, i'd say stay away from manitou and for right now stay away from marzocchi's as they have recently moved production to the far east and are having some qc problems.  you can't go wrong w/ the new rock shox stuff (i love my new totem and the maxle kicks all sorts of ass) or fox for xc/trail bike duties.

For what it's worth, don't go low cost.  Spend the money. I just bought a low cost Rock Shox Tora.  The rebound control knob blew off on the first ride and it has been leakinng fluid since.  Now I have to have the shop send it back, get the credit, then order an upgrade.  Now I'm looking at the Rock Shox Reba, Recon, Revealation, or Pike?  Any thoughts??

When i spoke with Abner he suggested getting a 100 mm Rock Shox Recon and letting him modify to fit my bike and riding style.

I can get a Reba race for $420. The cheapest I have seen the Fox's go for is $600, I don't think im ready to drop that much for a fork. plus they only come in white  :-\

Do you need a specific front hub for that?
