They were burning it in a controlled burn on Tuesday and it was completely closed at that point, there was a sign at the gate and the ranger made sure to tell me 5 times they were burning Sandpine and to stay away. Maybe he's just talking about the result of the controlled burn?

Hopefully that is all it was. I remember ride Widerness Trails after a prescribed burn, within a week after the burn and it was kinda neet. It was still smouldering but not enough to be a hazzard and you could see alot further than normal. All has grown back now.

In case any one is actually confused.  Sandpine is or was (as of last night) closed because of a controlled burn, that remained controlled.  The bigger issue is that Rabbit Ear #2 is still flooded!  I am ready to install a bilge system.  Oh well.  The rest of the trails are sweet.

Just rode Alafia, Sand Pine is closed and extra crispy.  I have not seen the results of a controled burn there before, but it looks alot more substancial than what I see at croom.

Dibs on Marcels reign then  ;D, if he's gone he won't be needing it. Although we should probably bury his single speed with him.
