critters on the trail
« on: May 06, 2008, 07:51:42 AM »
Yesterday I had a first, I have seen Pigs, Turtles, Snakes, Armadillo's & Squirrels on the trail but yesterday I saw 2 Otters in the little creek on North Creek, At first I thought they were small gators but I was lucky enough to get a good look.
I have lived in Florida over 50 years and this was a first.
Few things are harder to put up with than the annoyance of a good   example.

I rode under two large sized buzzards on the new finger on North Creek. Quite an eerie experience.

I used to see Otters at Hillsborough river state park too..they are here, just very good at not being seen for the most part.
I keep hoping to see one of those Iguana type large lizards they say roams Boyette. :)
When you ride so far out that you hear no traffic, no people...nothing..

zen.

We saw a group of 5 of them playing one day on Moonscape. We probably watched them for about 10 minutes, it was too cool!

I saw a hog and wild turkey out at wilderness on the "loop" , so I shot the turkey and took it home for dinner.

That was a joke...

I have also seen my fair share of gators at almost all the trails I ride.

I wouldn't be surprised, Boyette is very eerie when I ride alone.
