What are the specifics of the class up to this point?  Time it starts, length, will it include CPR/First Aid AND bike patrol?  What is the cost, and location?  Thanks.

I'm waiting for specifics from Lou and Julianne, but I think the CPR/ First Aid/ Defib class runs around 3 hours maybe a little shorter and it's free except for $3.00 for the card. There's one the 24th next weekend at Widerness but it's close to being full if not already. They also do the bike patrol and first aid together I beleive adding another 1-2 hours for the patrol class. They've had those at Alafia before and again I beleive it's free. If you want to be an IMBA / NMBP you need to show proof of the class, first aid card and pass an online test (pretty simple) and pay for the membership, starting at $50.00 with different packages for more money and all include a 1 year membership to IMBA. Check out the IMBA website and there's alot more info there. Here's the link....... http://www.imba.com/nmbp/membership.html

Anyone wanting toi take itlet me know so I can get an accurate headcount. So far I have

Ken Odum
Jonathon
Jason D

and several from the Swampclub e-group.

Ken, not sure if you  mentioned it already so sorry if you did... If you planning on becoming NMBP you have to do two things.  Actually three or more but the two basic ones is to pass the online test they have on the link Ken put up.  Very easy and you can take multiple times.  Take a local class (IMBA will check this), then send for your membership.  Of course, you should go out and practice on the trails too.

From what I understand, Julianne's class takes care of that. There were three different ways to fulfill thta requirment, and that was one way.

You have to be certified in CPR in order to take the NMBP test through the IMBA. That CPR certification is good for 3 years. That is what Lou's class is about on the 24th.

Yeah, there's no First aid to that class, it's just Cpr/Defib.

3-4 spots are left in the CPR class and Lou said usually several people don't show, so if you live close by and want to attend the CPR class, you could stop by and see if there's room and if not your not driving real far out of the way.
