Anthem, wish I could make the time trial, but after the time I rode yesterday, I'll just take last place.  Actually, I can't make it, but would love to see some of the times (even posted w/out the riders name).  It would give me something to work towards.

Also, thanks again for the garage sale items.  The Thomson looks great on the SS!
God is great, beer is good, people are crazy!

The offical unoffical start is where you make a right into the trail off the feeder from the parking lot. The finish is where the last whoop dumps you on the sandy double track. I have not been to Alafia in a few weeks, is the plank over the mud pit still in play?

See "Removing Obstacles" thred.  Plank was only a temporary solution until the mud dried to lay down shellrock on that muddy section.  The trail original path stays where it was designed.  No cutting corners now...  :-)

I'm going to buy some radios and stop-watches today. I should be at Alafia around 5PM on Thursday.

I'll lay a start and finish line, then hang a radio by the start while I stand at the finish. I'll give a starting count-down over the radio and start the watch, then stop it when the rider crosses the finish line. I figure separating the starts by 5 minutes should allow riders enough space to not get in each other's way.

Sound good to everyone?

Anthem won by default of being the only one to show :D

Anyone care to try this again, now that I bought all the equipment to run it:
4 cones to lay out start and finish lines
4 stop-watches to time 4 riders simultaneously
2 radios to communicate between start and finish lines
1 notebook to log everybody's times

Thursday afternoon / evenings would work best for me, though I could probably do it on a Saturday afternoon / evening as well.

I can't do anything Saturday mornings because I don't usually get to bed Friday night until 5AM or 6AM Saturday morning. 8)

The park doesn't close until 8, and I probably wouldn't start the TT until 6, so you'd have time to give it a shot.
