Rollercoaster 1st option Danger tape
« on: May 08, 2008, 09:59:34 PM »
Hey ya'll, while riding Rollercoaster today I saw that the climb into and out of the first option was taped off with red DANGER tape and was wondering what was behind door #2 ;D Is the drop into the lefty under construction or the drop before that?

It is taped off because of repairs to correct erosion waiting for approval.  If all is good it gets opened.  If it needs more work it stays closed until it's finished.

1st option?  are you talking about the little loop in the back with the two bigger drops?

Yes Slowly that is correct, with the second option being the choice to hit the easy whoop or the BIG :o drop shortly after the off camber turn following the first option :)

The drop with the left turn (after you climb up on that first hard option then drop down the paver to go up by the tree) was getting badly eroded.  Too many brake huggers and green murk water divers were riding that.  I was not at the last work day but I hear the new work around it will very very sweet.

Besides, you have to give Art some time to locate his gps marked rocks to put back on the long climb out.  I bet this fun corrected section will be open real soon and we all are going to love it.  Can't wait till  it gets approved to ride.  Hopefully, I can pay back a litte at the next work day at Alafia for it.

Thank you all who worked on it...

I walked it to check it out Wed. and it IS awesome.  The whole trail system is begging for H2O right now.  If you're not leading, then you just end up with brown boogers  ;D.  It is worth eating all the spiderwebs to not have to eat all the dust!

Other than being a little dry(sandy) the trails are in great shape :) Rode Gatorback twice, once alone and the second go around with Risky and finished it off with a little trip thru DOOM :o

It hasn't gotten as bad (yet) as it was last year; not by a long shot.
Give it a few months  :-X

It's perfect for Time Trials, as everyone should be able to turn in faster times after we get enough rain to pack it in. That way, they'll have a sense of accomplishment later!

I rode it today, I didn't think it was all that bad either. There are spots on Rollercoaster and between the end of Bridges and Rabbit Ears that are alot worse!
