You will find sandy spots everywhere locally this time of year. Rainy season starts soon! The only place that I have been in the last couple of weeks that doesn't at least have some sandy spots is Santos. My advice is to shift your weight back a bit and peddle through it, it will make you a stronger rider. Bring plenty of water where ever you go! :)

Like Greg said, sand is everywhere. I am going to Boyette or Alafia on Saturday early, you want to meet up? Slowly said he would go maybe. I need some new scars on my legs :D. Did you get your bike back? stupid question by me if you are looking to ride I guess. I have my Alafia annual pass if you want to go there.

Lets due Alafia.  8:30?  I got my bike back long story.  I hate sand and thats probably the least sandy.  Boyette is probably a sand pit. I have had the flu for the last 2 weeks so yall well have to take it easy on me.

Can I jump in on this action too?  ;D I've never been to alafia so i'd rather not go it alone for my first time out. Are there plenty of trees @ Alafia like @ Boyette cause Jim knows I love me some trees!  ;)

I have a great sand tip.  Drop your tire pressure a little, like you were taking your car on the beach.  You might have to ride a little more conservatively if you are a basher(I pinched 3 tubes in the last 2 weeks), but you will have a lot better traction and float over some spots.  I am glad someone posted that Santos is not too sandy, as I am headed up this weekend.  Hope the tip helps someone and sorry if I stated something obvious.

Alafia is good for me. maybe I can follow you on some trails I have not been on yet. Jazzman your welcome to come and slowly also if you read this. I have been wanting to get to Alafia at least once a week but it has not happened in the last couple of months. I ahve to make the cost of the annual pass worth it!

santos is in great condition

if you use stans (tubeless) and drop the pressure = no pinch flats

Santos, particularly the red trails, hold up really well when it is super dry and the blue's and yellow's there hold up really well when its wet.

I'm hoping to hit up Alafia on Sunday for a slow ride depending on how my hand feels (going to test it out today/tomorrow) if anyone is interested.

Darrin....I guess we will meet out there on saturday.  We can do all the trails except for Moonscape and Gatorback, unless everyone wants to do those to.  It doesnt matter to me.

Everyone thanks for the replies on the sand.

hells yeah i'll go to alafia!! i'll try to be there at 8:00 slowy time (8:30 eastern time) lol
i've dropped 20lbs since 4/9/08 and can't wait to see what the weight difference does for my endurance on these trails.
i've ridden everything there many times except gatorback and moonscape (went through those once, a LOT of walkin, lol)

looking forward to it!! !!

anyone want to do grill up some burgers and dogs afterwards?

Is this an open invite, or an invite only ride?  I am a B level rider, and haven't ridden in a few weeks.  I like going early and dislike riding alone.  If you are a bunch of elitists, then don't worry about telling me to stay away! :D
