I'd like to thank all the SWAMPers who rode Santos this past Sunday (5/18). Maybe 10 minutes into our ride, my g/f Barbara was zipping along down Pine Tree and managed to catch her pedal on a stump. That sent her flying into the handlebars and somehow one of the pedals came up and caught her on the front of her thigh.

It gave her a nice big scrape (which has since developed a very impressive bruise), and she was most worried about bleeding into her SOBE-edition biking shorts (my extra pair). We turned around to head to the parking lot where we'd planned on using a clean sock to cover it, but we ran into a well-equipped group of SWAMPers along the way. They quickly broke out a first aid kit, cleaned the wound, put a gauze pad over it and wrapped it with a bandage. She was really impressed with how friendly, prepared, and competent they were.

i've noticed that SWAMP'ers are usually very friendly and courteous. i popped a tire once at boyette and they gave me a tube and changed my tire (i never changed a tire before) and used a Co2 quick fill on me.

caught a tree stump eh?  same thing happened to me on 5/17, lol

Joe, you forgot to mention you and Josh both used my 1st aid kit on Saturday ;D, I learned to keep that from Lou Whyte.

Who needs band aids, I just pack my wounds with dirt to stop the bleeding and continue on

The local Big Lots had a 157-piece first aid kit for only $12. I'll keep the big kit in my car and pack the stuff she needs most often in a saddle bag on "her" bike (the SOBE Furio).
