Pandemonium climb roll call
« on: May 20, 2008, 08:07:05 PM »
Hola fellow swampers,

My riding pals and I keep trying to put the level of difficulty, for the last climb near the end of Pandemonium (bottom trail), into perspective. I'm curious, who's who amongst those who can clean this climb consistently? Also, can you clean it on your FS or SS or both?

1. mtbker1224; aka: Luis, FS & SS (32/18)

Consistently?  I've cleaned it twice; haven't many more than that.  Two weeks ago a big water moccasin was in the middle of the trail after the first climb/drop!

I only ride my SS at Boyette, and only a few times a year.  I've cleaned it 4 or 5 times, it is a challenge on the SS. 34x17 gear.

I clean it consistantly on both bikes. A 32/16 on the SS. You have to rail the turn that comes into it.

I agree Chisel, it's all about hitting the corner at the bottom just right.

I could never make it, then I followed a buddy one day who made it and now I have no problem with it.  When you come around the turn and it just looks straight up, it is pretty intimidating.

I have never tried it - I am giving it a go the next time I am at boyette though - the new bike climbs exponentially better than the old bike.

I got it; howz about a slight pause with a trackstand at the top just before cresting the climb ;). Lol! funny thing is, I've actually done it... totally by mistake.

I have never attempted it yet simply because I only rode pandemonium once and it was the upper trail :( but I will be out there tomorrow and will surely give it a go.
Another one that is a challenge for me is the climb out of sneaky snake at carter, I have yet to clear that.

You guys got a group riding Boyette tomorrow? What time? I've been trying like crazy to get out there this week.

Let me know.
