Coolest helmet ever
« on: June 02, 2008, 04:55:17 PM »
I managed to watch and place a bet (which I won...gotta love the sports books in las vegas) on the MotoGP race in Italy on Sunday and the race winner, Valentino Rossi, had the coolest paint scheme on his helmet.  He had a picture of face painted on the top and since they spend most of the race with their head down, it kept on looking like his helmetless head was coming right at you.  Here are some pictures:

not a very risky bet...rossi has won the past 7 italian GPs in a row and the past 2 races of the season

I didn't win much and lost all of that later in day when I put money on Jens Pulver to beat to Faber in the WEC match (very awesome fight btw).  Vegas is a ton of fun - I just wish I decided to bring my bike stuff and ride on Saturday as the weather was perfect.

pretty cool helmet.

That Faber vs Pulver fight was a real good fight. The one just before it was pretty good also.

i was SOOOOO angry at that
i recorded the kimbo fight, but apparently the fight came on after the show was scheduled to be over so my DVR didnt record it
so i thought, ok, i'll through an extra 24min on the end time for the pulver fight, got into the 3rd round and it just stopped. i almost threw my remote through the wall

It was an excellent fight...easily one of the best I've seen in a while.  Jens just didn't have the speed to hang to Faber but was tough enough to last 25 minutes.  I just don't know what's left for Faber now - he could go up a weight class, but I don't think he could hang with a BJ Penn or some of the other top guys in that class.
