Dream bike stable
« on: June 05, 2008, 02:03:39 PM »
I've been in Las Vegas since last week and seeing tons of wealth go by got me thinking...what would your dream bike stable be if you won a huge lottery and had enough money after buying the house, cars, etc to do whatever you want and not lift a finger to do anything unless you wanted to.  Here's my stable:

DH Bike - a Turner DHR, won't get much use in Florida but I'll have plenty of time to take it to the mountains - http://www.turnerbikes.com/08dhr.html
Freeride bike - my current Intense VPX - I'd just upgrade some components
Play bike - Intense 6.6 Slope Style - it is kinda a mini DH bike - relaxed geometry, low bb, - with lower travel and lighter weight. It would be a perfect bike tearing up all but the nastiest trails at most bike parks - http://www.intensecycles.com/2008/bikes.php?model=ss
Heavy Duty Trail bike - A Knolly Delirium.  I'm just enamored with Knolly's designs.  This bike would be for solo rides when I don't care about keeping up with anyone or for when I had to climb to get to some difficult trails going down - http://www.knollybikes.com/frames/delirium-t/index.aspx
XC bike - A Knolly Endorphin, a little overbuilt for some, but it would be something that I wouldn't be afraid to have both wheels leave the ground on a regular basis with - http://www.knollybikes.com/frames/endorphin/index.aspx
Fast XC bike - Pivot Mach 4 or Ibis Mojo - try out a DW-link bike and see if I like it - http://www.pivotcycles.com/bikes.php or http://www.ibiscycles.com/mountain/mojo/
Hardtail - I've always wanted a Ti hardtail so I'd get a custom job done, probably a single speed, by either Seven or Eriksen - http://www.sevencycles.com/mountain_detail.php?bike=sola or http://www.kenteriksen.com/mountain.html

I'd probably get some kind of road bike as well, but have no idea what kind other than I'd want it to have some kind of pimp paint job.  I have no interest in any kind of 29'r or 650b so I didn't include any of that on my list.

So, what is everyone else's dream stable?

I'll second that on the Foes FXR, such a sexy bike, that will be my pick for all mountain.

Free Ride - Kona Coilair http://www.konaworld.com/08_coilairsupreme_w.htm

Road - Specialized tarmac

The FXR is sweet and would be a contender to knock out the Knolly Delirium as my big trail bike.

I'll definately have one of these bad boys hanging up on the wall.  No doubt I could podium a few races with this beast:

But seriously, I probably wouldn't go too crazy.  I'd definately keep my current bikes (Anthem 2 and Monocog) and probably go a bit crazy on wheel sets, weight weenie type modifications, and a complete new drivetrain for the Anthem.  Added to the stable would be Giant TCX 0 (cyclocross bike).  My big splurge would be a titanium hard tail of some sort.
