Question about Alafia pass
« on: June 09, 2008, 09:30:22 AM »
I'm thinking about getting one of the passes for Alafia, but I'm curious if the pass lets everyone in your car in at 7 or does each person in the car need a pass?  My wife rides with me and one pass won't do much good if she can't get in.

The pass is good for everyone in the car, they use the honor system of the person putting money in the stand-alone fee station - $1 in your case.

You're also required to display the pass and/or the piece of paper given to you in your window so the ranger on duty can see your pass when he or she comes to open the restrooms.

A family pass at Alafia costs about $80 and is good for 8 people in the vehicle.  Well worth it. :) :)
What was I THINKING !!!!!!

I'd love to get a pass with this paycheck but a new saddle and Lycra shorts would be worth there weight in gold.

A single pass is $40, a family pass is like $75. I went with the single pass additional passengers are only $1 and most of the time free as we get waved thru :)

Don't forget the early bird option youg et with the pass.  You get the combo for the gate to go in as early as 6am.  IN the summer, it is a blessing.  If you don't like the spider webs that is.

I've had state park annual passes for a couple of years & give them as Christmas gifts.  The family pass gets everybody in the car into any park in the state.  With the individual pass, everybody after the driver pays $1 (although I've had friendly rangers wave me through if I only had kids with me).  If you're going to ride a lot at Alafia, or if you like to go to state parks around the state, you'll come out ahead if you go into a park more than 8 or 9 times a year.  I also look at it as a good way to support the state park system.  Buy the pass.
