I noticed that too. I've seen that guy before. I think he rides a SS. At least the article says 'even the most hardcore wear helmets'.

Typical newspaper exaggeration on almost everything said, but I won't complain if it gets more people in my area into the sport.

I ride at the celery fields regularly. Considering there is little off-road riding here in Sarasota, it's actually a good place to ride. It is a old landfill area full of climbs, off camber fun, and a couple of gap jumps thrown in. I would say it's as technical as anything we group ride, but on a smaller scale in overall mileage. I normally do a few laps of the place. The close proximity to "Big Cat Rescue" keeps you on your toes with the odd lion or tiger roar. I rode there at night and the cat sounds made me slightly uneasy. If anyone is interested in meeting for a ride I will be happy to show you around the place

I ride in Sarasota, too.  Haven't ridden around Celery Fields - but do most of my riding at Carlton Reserve down in Venice.  Nothing technical - but lots of two-track and woods roads where you can put in some miles and never see anybody - but the gators and hogs.
