Changes at Alafia
« on: July 20, 2008, 07:29:45 PM »
I was just wondering what you guys think about the changes on Roller Coaster and North Creek. A log or a root is removed and comments come from everywhere, we add log crossings a few more rocky sections a couple new changes and a new section to Roller Coaster and we don't hear anything. So what do you think?

The changes are great! Roller Coaster is working in really well. I love what you did with the first option! The second hard option was a little dicey yesterday, but that was 'cause it was a little damp.  The log pile on Northcreek is entertaining and very ridable.  Thanks for your creativity Art!  ;D

You already know what I think! ;D

I know from talking to Erik a few weeks ago he loved the new stuff as well.

That climb on Shelley's is perfect now IMO. Hopefully it stays that way.

Loved the new changes.  Had a blast riding there today.  The new first harder option on Roller Coaster was NICE.  Of course someone took it upon themselves to reopen the old, less sustainable line. Our temporary close hopefully will hold until you can make it more permanent.  The new beginning towards Moonscape was a blast.  That was the first I had ridden it.  Great job art!

Northcreek is great, but that rebuilt jump at Northcreek came as quite a suprise a couple weeks ago.

Rollercoaster is a blast...even on the rigid.  :)

I never rode North Creek when the first log was there.  I heard you guys put one back so when I saw it, I went around it.  As I was riding around it, I looked at it and thought "man, that's nothing, I was expecting a log PILE".  But yeah, its cool to have the choice to go over it or around it.

And yeah, the jump got bigger.  I knew this so I went slow over it.  Next time I'll add some more speed and catch some air   :o

I'm loving the new changes especially the extenstion to Roller Coaster.  When I first rode that section it was soft and wet and was a pain to get through; however, it is now packed in really well and flows very nicely - there is this one part where you can pump through parts and then carve a corner without pedaling that I really enjoy.

The added rock gardens and log overs I have some mixed feelings on...the current ones work very well, but I wouldn't go crazy with them and potentially ruin some flow on the trail just for the sake of some rocks or logs.

Great job on the jump on North Creek as well.
