My company recently went to a 4-day work week. So, I'm off every Friday. Is anybody interested in going for morning rides anywhere on Fridays? Does the group that was going on weekday mornings still go?

yeah Amocat, you seem to have disappeared! welcome back!

i've got fridays off now and also once school starts again so it would be great to get another weekday ride going. this friday might not be good, going out drinking tomorrow night

I've been around, been riding once in a while, but not too often. I got a gym membership back in January, so I've been taking advantage of that. And, my daughter has been keeping us busy with her sports. She played volleyball from November through April. And, she has been playing softball since March. She made the Bloomingdale Little League All-Stars. They won their District, their Florida Section, and just made it to the Florida State Finals this past weekend in Cocoa Beach. They haven't played the Finals game yet, but both they and the other Finalist, which is S. Tampa/Palma Ceia, are advancing to the U.S. Southern Regional Tournament next weekend in Ft. Myers. There are 8 teams: Florida, Georgia, Alabama, S. Carolina, N. Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and W. Virginia. If they win that, the'll be going straight to the Little League Junior Softball World Series in Kirkland, Washington. Anyway, that's been occupying most of my off-work time.

Sorry, my company isn't currently hiring. And, I found out last night that tomorrow my wife made an appointment for me to meet with a health insurance guy...but next Friday, I could be out at Boyette or Alafia at 8:00 sharp.

I'll be riding somewhere again Friday morning if anyone is interested. Boyette and Alafia are the closest for me, but I'm up for trying something new. Those are the only two places I've been.

Thanks for the offer. But, 103 miles to ride is a bit too far for me right now. I have to stick close to home.

I'm also b- to c. I usually go to Boyette and have been to Alafia a couple times b/c I live in Valrico. If you're definitely going, I'd rather go Friday than Saturday b/c Saturday cuts in to family time.

Yes, that is where I prefer to ride for distance and gas consumed. I'll see you there. I drive a maroon Discovery.

I think I am riding tomorrow AM, but trying to keep it a little shorter. Any chance anyone is going to Alafia tomorrow? Boyette makes me ride 12-15 miles everytime and I am too lazy for all that. I will sheck back here later, maybe see people at Boyette if no one is riding alafia.

i think there is a club ride this saturday at boyette?

Carter rd still scares me after I dumped myself and my bike in the lake twice about 30 ft apart due to wet slanted roots.

So, what happened to ya last Friday? eclark and I had a good ride. Although, we did make the mistake of separating at the end and not meeting back up how we planned.

To be brutally honest, it was MY worst ride in over a year, since I started riding again. I was/am still recovering from bronchitis, so my lungs were at their very worst. I wiped out probably 5-6 times. And, on the way out, I got severe cramps in BOTH my thighs. I'm still glad I got out and rode. But, I've had much better days.

I apologize profusely for not showing up, my boss called me in that morning to work unexpectedly. I felt bad but didn't have anyway of calling you. I'm very glad that you found eclark to ride with you and I can assure you next time if I say I'll be there to ride with you I WILL boss or no boss! =)

worst ride in a year? harsh. dont take it too serious though, it was a horrible day to breathe with the humidity and all. those days just suck it out of ya. you gonna make it saturday at 7 to ride before the workday?

eclark: I don't know if I can get up that early on a Saturday. How long/far do you think you'll be riding? I don't want to slow anybody down either.
