Cleaning question
« on: August 03, 2008, 05:16:09 PM »
I noticed after hauling my mt. bike every weekend on my car rack (I have a hang off the trunk style), the rubber straps have made an imprint on my baby blue GF Paragon  >:(

I've used Bike Wash and 409 and still can't get it off. Is there anything an LBS could try or am I pretty much SOL?

What kind of rack is it that is doing that? I would think that anything that you might use on a car to remove rubber marks would probably work, but I don't know if I would go so far as to use polishing compound. Have you tried Simple Green and some elbow grease?

It's a Yakima Super Joe 3

I don't know what Simple Green is but I'll google it and check it out. I'll ask my car fanatic buddy if he has anything heavy duty he uses on his cars.

Thanks!

Try some car wax, Maguires makes a cleaner/wax for around $8 that works great :)
