nice 40 miler with the group at san antonio this am.

they asked me not to come back though....they got tired of waiting for me at the top of the climbs.

I am putting that place in my training routine.

The NK ride is in west volusia florida, starts on the Deltona/Osteen border.  It is about 50 miles, but it can be longer if I add every little thing to it.  And its a combination of roads, sidewalks, back roads, double track, dirt roads, bike paths and singletrack.  Conditions can make it a rough ride, but mind you, even in the worst conditions a skilled rider can do it all without dismounting.
At this time, conditions are perfect and there was next to zero sandy spots.  Felt like lots of climbing though, we did it backwards then the usual route, but if I and when I take a group out, I think backwards is the way to go.

I will be in N. GA next weekend drinking and watching sports car racing, though I hope to get some riding in on Sunday, somewhere...

Overall, it doesn't look like I'm going to get much riding in before PINE LOG.  I have the weekend before the race to ride, other than that I am just too busy...bummer.

Hopefully I will still be able to do well.

I think thats the weekend Im talking about. The weekend before the race.

BTW, Factor, its a fat tire ride.  Last two times I done it, I did it single speed as well, And other people have done it single as well.

that might be a nice little pre-ride before the race - I have a 17 cog that I could throw on there for a ride like that - is 32x17x29 about right?

there were maybe 10 of us in a group - only 4 of us broke off from the group to do the harder "ice cream hill" option.....there was no friggin ice cream - it was a big lie

the 4 of us ended up doing 40 miles at a 18mph ave - we met back up with the rest of the group for the ride back in....there was a sprint at the end that I took 2 hard strokes then sat back down......lol
