Visiting Southern California - Looking for Suggestions...

Howdy!

It has been a little while since I have posted to the forums, but I have been lurking...

Anyway, Nancy and I are visiting her family in Rialto, CA, and I was wondering if anyone has any experience riding out there - specifically in the San Bernadino National Forest / Arrowhead Lake / Big Bear Lake areas... Any trail suggestions? Does anyone know of any good clubs out there to get in touch with? Shops?

We have found a couple leads on bike rentals, so I'm sure we will get direction from some of the locals, but it would be great to hear from any Swampers who could share a tip or two for a couple of non-mountain-climbing Floridian riders  ;D ;D ;D

The San Juan trail is in that area and is fun, but somewhat epic, ride.

I've ridden Big Bear many years ago, but it was exclusively at the ski resort using the lifts and riding their small, but fun, collection of DH trails there so I can't help you with that other than to say that there are more XC type trails in the area, but can't comment on their quality.
