Gregg is supposed to give me a tour some time during the next 2 or so weeks.  I generally keep a good rotation between Carter, Alafia, and Santos combined with the fact that I have limited riding time makes me wary to stray from my 'sure thing' rides.

Helmet cam video of the most technically demanding trail I've ever ridden - Chain Smoke at Mammoth Mountain:

Of course, the video doesn't do it justice.

Specific video of a section called the Waterfall that makes my sphincter pucker and gets me off the bike to walk it:

Do you have any extra time off in the next week or 2?

The dirt jumping in the beginning is kinda blah, but the trail footage next is great...the trail looks like a blast.

Cool story about a student messing a land sale in Southern Utah - apparantly some of this land is where some of the Moab area trails are.

Markham Park videos

Some helmet cam videos taking you through Markham Park down in S. Florida - http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=481500

This is great park and worth checking out at least once a year.  I was down there after Thanksgiving with some guys and had a blast.  If I can get another full day, I'd do it again if anyone is interested.

If I were ranking trails in Florida, I'd put Santos first and have a tie for second with Alafia and Markham.  Markham really is a blast - lots of nice technical spots, pretty good flow, maintained well, etc.

I just looked up Markham....wow what a drive. However, it does look like fun.

It is a drive, but we only go down once or twice a year.  Leave around 6am, on the trails before 10, ride until you can't anymore (about 3 laps), pack it up, and go home.

I had a such a good time when I went around Thanksgiving that I'd be up for doing it again if others were interested.

Mad March Racing - DH lessons
« Reply #43 on: January 08, 2009, 01:47:30 PM »
This is something that I'd like to try to arrange one day - http://www.pinkbike.com/news/Mad-march-racing-private-coach-2009.html

I've heard nothing but good things from those fortunate enough to spend some time with him and I always though Shaums was cool back when he raced Dare's for Ellsworth.  I've also heard that the gravity camps at Whistler are pretty good too.
