Critical Mass
« on: November 16, 2008, 02:08:06 PM »
Seeing how we're all cycling enthusiasts here...
I was wondering if anyone has participated in a monthly critical mass ride? I'd really like to get in on St. Pete's ride, but I'm not 100% sure how it works; does one just show up for the ride, or what?

let me start by saying that I have never participated in a CM ride.
I did see a movie called BIKE I think.  and it was interesting.  they had footage of critical mass in nyc and it was a protest feeling display for cyclist rights and oil capitalism.  i loved it cause they were screaming G*S! Hilarious. However, I have raced an alley cat and i dugg the vibe of the local crowd.
I say go and if u dont like the scene u roll out like an autobot.

Well, I do own a SS; non vintage. However, I do not beleive that my girl pants fit any longer.  ;) I wonder if a late model SS and boy pants are acceptable?

When I went, admittedly I didnt look at the guys, I looked at the chix and there were lots of them.  One in particular was wearing like a gray sports bra.  Let's just say I could perfectly understand the anatomy of her mammaries after the race... LMAO

Luis or anyone,
Who is doing the Tampa CM ride this friday?   I see some posts on there where they are trying to get a bit more serious to bring respect to bike commuters.  Check it out.. I am somewhat interested on going to it but I sure don't want to get run over by a car.  No interested on holding any kind of protest either.  Anyone interested?

Personally I think CM does more harm then good.  Even as a biker I get pissed off when I end up in the middle of that mess.
