« on: November 27, 2006, 12:11:50 PM »
Second Saturday of the month, 9:00 am at Boyette Scrub parking lot

December 9th, 2006

Mark your calendar and give us a few hours Saturday to maintain the trails.

Be sure to RSVP to trails (at) SWAMPclub (dot) org so we have enough lunch and drink on hand.

Hope to see you there.

Three questions..ok maybe four..

(1) Do I have to be a member to contribute to the trail work days? Can I become a member at the work day if I fill out the paperwork?

(2) Do you ride after cleaning up the trail??

(3) Do you need to bring anything when you come to a trail work day (besides a good attitude, some gloves)???

Thanks
-Bob

Great questions Bob.

(1) Do I have to be a member to contribute to the trail work days? Can I become a member at the work day if I fill out the paperwork?

Anyone can join in an help out on a trail workday. No membership required.  Just send an e-mail to trails (at) SWAMPClub.org and let them know to expect you.  That way enough food, equipment and transportation to the trail work sites can be arranged.

I am not sure if you can even become a member at a work day.  Our trail leaders are not equipped to handle membership forms, however, there is usually someone on a Sunday ride who is. Ask for Marty E and she will set you up with membership at a Sunday ride. (Unless you join through the main website at http://www.swampclub.org/join_renew.htm)

(2) Do you ride after cleaning up the trail??

Sometimes we do, depends on how hard we work. Bikes are optional and when you bring your bike you can sometimes do trimming work so you basically ride your bike while working.  That is fun:  Get trail work credit for riding your bike.

(3) Do you need to bring anything when you come to a trail work day (besides a good attitude, some gloves)???

Some water might help too.  Drinks are usually provided for lunch but that doesn't help if you are out on the trails working up a sweat.  This is especially important during the summer time.

Hops these answers help, thanks for asking.

Boyette is a great 'bring your bike to work' place.  The trails almost always need trimming.  Work in teams though, never alone.

Make sure you sign in with Tim (Trail Boss) before going out on the trails.

Thank You for joining and helping us maintain the trails.

It will be a little chilly on Boyette work day!

Arrive at 8:30 to start at 9:00... a little work and lunch at noon.

No advertised plan for what work will go on.  Check with the trail boss in the morning.

Stay warm out there!
