Truvativ Noir Crank Set?
« on: November 20, 2008, 12:51:12 PM »
Looking for insight on this Crank, I have seen a few Swampers sporting them. If memory serves me I think Chainslap and FactorE have or had them. Well, what is your take on them? Word on the trail is that they are noticably stiffer than Shimanos Hollow crank arms on the XT and XTR series.

I have this crankset on my ellsworth and I find them smooth and efficient.  I havent noticed any flex when I needed to stand up on them to make a hill or obtain a small burst of speed.

No problems with my Niors.  FSA and Race Face Next both make carbon specs, check the weight, some are down about 750g others 800ish.

I went to their website....check you credit card statement.

That is 100 bucks or more less than any others that I saw. Are you sure that they are XTR?

I just checked again..... What is the website address?

I am looking at  chainreactioncycles.com

Are the XTR crank arms still hollow? I broke my drive side arm in half a few months back on Moonscape and it was going to cost me $200 just for the arm. I bought a new FSA crank set instead. The XTR second series outboard BB bearings sucked anyway. I had to spray lube in them every few months just to keep them spinning some what freely. Sealed....yeah right. Hope the newer models have these problems addressed.
