Fox F29 G2 Fork
« on: November 22, 2008, 06:37:07 AM »
I'm looking into replacing my fork when my new frame comes in because the new G2 geometry was designed around a custom offset fork. I've found this one on E-Bay. Is it really worth $470 ???

Add the $49 shipping from Taiwan... ;)  MSRP is +/- $700, Do you need a 80mm or 100mm, the 80 can be converted to 100 easily, but you need new crush washers and fork oil...

Do you need a 80mm or 100mm

I've never ridden a 100 mm before. I'm not sure i'd need that. What do you ride on your walt works?

So $470 is a steal for an unused one huh?

It's not what YOU need, it's what your bike needs... My bike was designed for an 80mm fork...

You mean $520?

Be careful with this... "G2" is Fisher terminology, not Fox. The 51mm offset forks are still only available to Fisher. If this fork is new in the box, my guess is it's a standard, 44mm offset. You might ask the seller.

But... The 44mm offset really wouldn't be that bad on the Paragon. It might handle quicker at low speeds than mine. FYI, your Reba has a 38mm offset.

Stick with 80mm.
This is gonna hurt
