A lot of time, planning, and work go into making new and improved trails for the masses to enjoy. And we actually enjoy doing that too. A lot of people give of their time throughout the year to make the trails that we all get to enjoy a reality.
Then comes the Trail Poachers. Yea, you know those folks who think they can just cut their bike out to a trail that isn't finished yet just because they can't control the urge to be the first to put bike tires on it.
We know it's not all SWAMPers who do it, but some of them are, and the SWAMP membership can set an example.
Sometimes the trail poaching - be it Boyette, Alafia or wherever - really makes more work for the ones who actually give of their time making the trail because of areas that aren't yet ready to be ridden are fragile. Edges get blown out that just needed a few more hours of work. Plus it's a bit disheartening to come back for more trail work and see some folks (you know who you are) think it's okay to try and ride what is essentially under construction.
It's not alright. Don't do it. Come out and help finish it so we all can enjoy it. Too much to ask?
