Night riding?
« on: December 16, 2008, 07:52:59 PM »
Is there night riding at boyette? I misjudged the time this evening and ended up back at the parking lot well after dark. There were three other cars still there. If it's cool to night ride I'll have to dust off my Lights & Motion........now where the hell is that thing.

O tay Butwheat here's the official deal there.  Night rides are not officially allowed at Boyette.  We had a couple and the land manager got nervous because he thought EMS couldn't find an injured rider in the dark.  After first of the year we get to take another look at doing it on Friday nights once a month - more if we can convince them it's a good thing.  The land manager wants to do some deal with EMS about trail orientation or something I'm not quite clear on yet.  I already did that with EMS and they are good to go.  (911 operators are a different story!  See related post) Anyway, Boyette night rides are super fun!  Lets hope after all of the new trail issues and holidays pass that we can get this done.  Patience.   :)

Thanks Luis.  Believe me - I've pushed the envelope on the night ride thing out there.  Haven't given up, just playing the game.

Funny this post was happening when I just posted about a safety director. This person could accomodate all of these items. Work with park rangers, 911 people, local fire stations...

HAH!  I think that's me!  HAHAHA   Some days I get spread thin.  I'm trying to bring all of those folks together.  Believe it or not, some of them never even met one another even though they all work for County until I suggested they know how to get around the place in an emergency.  Damnit!  That may sound like I'm tootin' my horn; I'm not! Just tossing info and looking for solutions.
