Carter road yesterday
« on: December 21, 2008, 07:20:05 AM »
Hit up the Loyce Harpe Park for all its adventures yesterday. Had a good ride, put in some sweet miles and dropped a few pounds. Now to keep it off. Brought some xcellent wraps for between lap fuel, wheat flat bread, processed lunch meat in a pickle loaf bologna flavor, mayo, tomatoes, and radish and clover sprouts. Mmmmm mmmmm they were good eatin! Felt strong all the way through, finished with 37.5 miles, 9.9 avg. and 3 hours 50 minutes of saddle time. Alternated between corp course and red course between laps and did a complete lap first time through red course.  Trails are sweet.
BillT - did not know that was you in the parking lot. Even tough we conversed a little bit I would have intro'd myself.
Bikehard - lost you guys on the first lap
Anthem- first time at Carter road! Cleaned everything and  was caught in the wrong gears a couple of times and still made the
climbs. Awesome showing for first time and not knowing the trails.
Gregg - Ghost rider shows up late for a cameo and cleans sneaky snake for the first time!!
Chiselchest- mileage weiner. 41 + miles for the day.
Juicehead- coming off the flu and powers through for a strong lap doing everything.
Sweetness- bruises foot and bails early. Hits old broken bone in foot and calls it a day.
Nice morning of riding!

Yo Ells!! I think you guys ended going corporate on the first lap, we took the full red.  Cleared Sneaky myself as if it was no trouble! ;D

I only had time for 1 lap yesterday so we did a full loop.  I just wasn't feeling it yesterday as everything just felt harder than it should have been.  I didn't make the short up between the trees on Sneaky nor the climb out and I skipped out on the 3rd Finger and the MOE entirely.  On the positive side, the turnaround on the 1st Finger is not a problem anymore.  Yesterday was just one of those rides where you hit every root wrong, clip your pedals, smack a tree, etc...all where you've never done it before.

Next ride will be better.

what climb is the 180 degree right hander then have to get on it to make a big climb up a ridge...it wouldn't be too hard if it weren't for the 180 degree switchback getting you all cattywhompass right before the climb

Sounds like the turnaround point on Big Momma's house - you do a tight, flat 180 and then go up.

I don't think I am brave enough to ride big mamma's house...I know that it is part of the corperate course
