For sale stuff
« on: December 24, 2008, 04:09:11 PM »
Hey folks, if you have posted something for sale and it is sold, no longer for sale, or otherwise not available anymore go ahead and delete your post from the board.  That way we can kind of keep it up to date.
Thanks.

The "For Sale" section is still very cluttered with sold and outdated items (craigslist alerts and the like). Kinda frustrating to send a bunch of PM's only to get a sold response several days later. I guess it would be kinda difficult to do a automatic 30 day clean out type thing like Craigslist has huh?
I'm thinking that one reason for the clutter may be because people do not understand how to remove their posts.
Open up your outdated post and hit "remove topic" down towards the bottom left of the screen.
It would be great to have this section up to date.

If appears that only a few people acted on this. For sale section is still loaded with dead ends. Does the new software support an auto remove after 30 days feature?

I wish people would remove outdated items.  I think I can remove 30 days or older.  Or 60 days?

I think 30 days will work. People can always re-post items that didn't sell.

This section will be cleaned up very soon.  Over 30 days gets deleted.  If you still have stuff for sale over that time frame just repost it.

I just deleted the one I had from last December. Sorry about that. I didn't realize I could delete it.

You can delete the add on page three for the Giant OCR (M) frame as I am the one who purchased it.

When/if my bike sells, I would like to remove it. But the instructions:

makes no sense - I can't find a "remove topic" button, icon, URL, ...
Thanks

Hmmm, I can see it and I'm not signed in as moderator.  If you click the title "Re: For sale stuff" and it doesn't show up, click the title again in that screen and it should.  Then just click on "remove topic."

I opened up one of my posts and it said "remove topic" on the bottom left side of the page. Right next to "lock topic" and "link to calendar".

Is there a good reason why only members can see for sale stuff?  Seems it would make a lot of sense to open it to public view.
