I have one that fits outboard BBs, is that what you need?

You can make something out of a long threaded rod, some nuts and a socket set.

The one they charge $120 for?? The bearings are pretty cheap, it is the toll to remove them that is expensive. If I can't get one, I will have to build one up from the threaded rod, nuts and socket set.....like Bill said.

Heat the BB cups over a flame, the bearings fall right out...have the replacements ready to go and pop those in while the cup is warm.

Thought I remember seeing something about sending your own cups off to phil wood and they will install the bearings for like $60-$70? Downside is you're without a bike for a couple weeks. I still have my old XTR BB with worn out bearings if you need something to keep your bike up and running. I was looking into it when my BB starting grinding. Didn't have a chance to do it because I broke a crank arm and thus ordered a new crankset.

Two of my bikes have external BB. The cost to change out 2 of them can pay for the tool, which I can lend out or resell on ebay for at least 1/2 the price. Hell, the replacement bearings cost only $15.00. The only problem is extracting the bearings, but since they will not be reused, I'll just gently hammer them out.
