what do you guys use? I tried that skin-so-soft stuff and deep woods off and the skeeters seem to ignore it most of the time.

Are you asking about while riding or while camping?

Cause usually, while riding, if you stay moving its not a problem.

While Camping, I like to use the candles, I dont like putting chemicals on my skin.

I find anything with deet in it works pretty good.
I became insane with long intervals of horrible sanity.

During the summer I use Bug & Sun - which has bug stuff (deet) and sun screen combined.

I've never used anything myself, except at times up in the northeast where ticks (and Lyme) are a major factor to take into consideration.  Although, I may have to consider something down here -- I got drilled on the forearm by a wasp at Croom on Christmas day (double bite), and let me tell you -- that is an experience I do *not* want to repeat.  Swelling and insane level of itching just subsided yesterday.

not so bad when we are riding, but when we stop for breaks or when we are loading up the car it gets real bad. I usually don't freak out about then but at loyce harpe in the evening there are billions of them from the swamp waters. the deep woods off worked ok but smelled like crap and we had to put tons of it on. I might try one of those electronic devices, we used to use them at home depot and they worked ok.

Be careful with Deet, it will damage anything plastic that it touches.....Spandex, heartrate watches, etc..... I usually look for something that doesnt have deet, and then minimize the stopping in the evening in particular. If you are having the trouble during daylight hours, try to stay out of the shade, the mosquitos tend to hang out in the shade, and avoid bright sunlight.

Are you having problems now? I haven't noticed them lately.

I rode tonight then met my girl at the dog park to let the pooch run around. well everything was great until 6:15 and all of a sudden the attack started!!! almost everyone with dogs got up at once and left. during the day its not to bad, but nightime sucks!
