Things move fast with hydraulics

Many of you who have ridden Sidewinder know that in the rainy season the South end of it holds water, and mix that with clay, and you have a mess wrapped around your tires and wedged between the wheel and frame.

Well, hopefully that is a thing of the past for Sidewinder.  Friday it took all of about 30 minutes for the "SWAMP MACHINE" to layout a rough new path a few feet above where the old lower wet one was.  Today three of us spent about 2 1/2 hours or so grooming it and it is ready to ride.  Nice line of sight, and nice sturdy tread that will pack in quickly.  Ordinarily it would have taken a crew of 6 or 7 volunteers 5 or 6 days to do the short section of trail that was accomplished in around 3 hours.

Next, look for an awesome fun change to Big Drop.  Hopefully it will work out with no more erosion issues, yet still an adrenaline rush as you whoosh down the face of the drop and try not to grab too much air coming out of the bottom while eliminating that hard turn back to the left. Again, it is rough cut in and will need some trail helpers to come out and make it an actual reality.  The "SWAMP MACHINE" laid out the path and contour in about an hour or so; now it's up to the "hands" to go in and make it a gem.  I estimate 2 or 3 hours to make it rideable with a crew of about 4 or 5.

Can we put you on the volunteer list?
