Two trail mini tour 1/25/09
« on: January 23, 2009, 09:00:20 PM »
With Alafia closed until mid-afternoon on Sunday (the signs said 2pm, by all accounts) myself and Adam/camf are planning to do a two-park ride on Sunday 1/25, starting with North Port Trail probably late-morning into early-afternoon, and head south from there to Caloosahatchee and do a lap or two there as well.

Just a FYI if anybody wants to join us (eclark, I'm lookin' at you)

There's a 5 Guys Burger & Fries near Caloosahatchee that will most likely be the post ride meal spot for any interested parties.

If I had to compare it to something at Alafia, it's probably a little like North Creek, perhaps with less flow than that.  It's tight sometimes-technical singletrack along a creek, with some north shore funpark areas in various condition, probably 6 miles or so, stretching from the Lady Slipper trailhead south to Price Blvd. There's a halfway-decent description and some crappy-camera video on SingleTracks.  Not sure yet what time we're heading out there, but I know the crew that normally rides there on Sundays leaves 8:30ish last I heard.
